Erhan Lanpir was born in 1979 in Bilecik. After graduating from Eskişehir Anatolian Fine Arts High School, he went on to study at the Eskişehir Anatolian University Education Faculty, Department of Painting. Lastly, he participated in the Master’s Degree program at the same university’s Painting Department.
Lanpir, participated in numerous exhibitions in Turkey (Eskişehir Özdilek Sanat Merkezi, Ankara Galeri Soyut, İstanbul Ziraat Tünel, Ankara Platform A), but also abroad (Virginia Danville Art History Museum, USA, Toruń Muzeum Okręgowe w Toruniu, Poland). He also took part in many projects involving art both in Turkey and abroad (SNBA Carrousel du Louvre, Paris, France, Poland, Tunisia, Portugal, Spain, USA), inworkshops, art fairs and symposiums.
Erhan Lanpir wanders on the borders of surrealism with the anatomical interpretations of his figures and the geometric spaces he brings together. Sorcerers, angels, witches and pagan images are adorned in paintings where the concept of “game” stands out. Lanpir also frequently uses appropriation of works by the masters of art history.
